Who we are
The Golden Dreams Project was founded on a simple but powerful belief:
confidence shouldn’t
be a luxury.
As a teacher in a socioeconomically diverse school district, our founder, Stephanie Burden, saw first hand how a child’s access to resources shaped their confidence, opportunities and sense of belonging. Combine these experiences with her lifelong love of fashion and The Golden Dreams Project was born.
Our mission is to provide access to formalwear, resources, and confidence-building experiences for under-resourced youth, empowering them to feel celebrated, supported, and golden during milestone events.
We envision a world where every young person can step into life’s big moments, like prom, confidently, knowing they are worthy of feeling like their best selves. Because confidence shouldn’t be a luxury, we work to remove financial and emotional barriers that can dim a teen’s moment in the spotlight.
Our values
Compassion - We meet every teen with kindness, empathy and understanding.
Empowerment - We give tools, not just items, to help teens feel confident beyond the event.
Inclusivity - We celebrate every teen, regardless of backgorund, identity or circumstances.
Joy - We believe in celebrating life’s moments wholeheartedly and unapologetically.
